Asif Iqbal’s family legacy is deeply rooted in the service and commitment to a free Bangladesh. His father, the Late Dr. BM Faizur Rahman, remains a shining light in the annals of Bangladesh’s history. A Member of Parliament and one of the 355 signatories of the country’s constitution, Dr. Rahman played a heroic role in the freedom fight as the deputy sector commander of Sector 1 and chief of Harina Camp during the liberation war. His mother, a politician and social worker, made noteworthy contributions by being a member of the National Committee of Women Awami League and actively participating in the rehabilitation of women in war-torn Chittagong.
